TUFI RESORT

Overview

Tufi Resort is renowned for its year-round diving opportunities and breathtaking reefs located just off its shores. The closest reef can be reached with a short 20-minute boat ride from the Tufi dive shop. The resort has been offering diving services for nearly two decades, establishing itself as a reputable destination for divers.

The founder of Nomadic Scuba was employed at Tufi Resort to oversee and coordinate the dive operations. This addition further enhanced the resort’s expertise and commitment to providing exceptional dive experiences. During his tenure, Matt (along with his DM team) explored and mapped 12 previously uncharted reefs.

Divers visiting Tufi Resort can expect to encounter a diverse range of marine life, including vibrant coral formations, colorful fish, and other fascinating underwater creatures. The pristine and untouched nature of the reefs adds to the allure of diving in this region.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced diver, Tufi Resort provides a unique and unforgettable diving experience with its stunning reefs and abundant marine biodiversity.

Tufi seasons

October to mid-December – This is the best time to dive Tufi.  During this time, the seas are calm and flat, providing excellent visibility (30m+) and cooler water temperatures (28°C/ 82°F), which attracts a huge array of aquatic life.

December to March – During this time, the seas are generally calmer, allowing access to all the offshore reefs. However, the heavy rainfall leads to increased river run-off, affecting visibility both on the more local offshore reefs and certainly in the fjords. Additionally, the rain raises the water temperature in the fjords, causing some critters to venture deeper in search of cooler environments.

May to September – Corresponds to the dry south-west monsoon season, the water in Tufi is very clear due to reduced run-off. However, strong winds during this period may hinder access to the offshore reefs, making it challenging to explore them, especially those on the outer reaches.

Dive services

Tufi dive centre is situated a short 5-minute walk from the resort or a quick  shuttle in the resort vehicle. Daily dives are conducted by using one of the 5 boats available, with the main dive attraction being the reefs situated 20-50 minutes offshore.

Welcome to the enchanting world of diving at Tufi Resort, where the coastal waters along the Tufi coastline boast an abundance of breathtaking underwater treasures. The presence of numerous shallow reefs has rendered commercial fishing impracticable, resulting in an astonishing concentration of fish and marine life that is truly awe-inspiring. Even on a less favourable day, when visibility may dip as low as 20 meters (no, that’s not a typo!), the underwater realm at Tufi continues to captivate divers.
